The main tourist information center in Stockholm, run by
Visit Stockholm and
located on the square Sergels torg, has closed for business. It might seem like a strange thing to happen, but there are several factors for this. The main reason is that, while Stockholm is welcoming more and more tourists each year, less and less are actually visiting a physical tourist center. This is, of course, due to the fact that visitors are getting most of their information, tickets and reservations online these days, making tourist centers increasingly obsolete.

Åhlens City, location of Savour Media visitors center |
If you would still prefer to visit a physical tourist center, fear not... there are still a few open in Stockholm, run by private companies:
- Savour Media- they have two information centers, one in the Åhlens City department store and the other in the City Terminal bus station (arrival/departure point for the airport busses).
- Tours & Tickets- they also have two information centers, one in the Central Train Station and the other one in Gamla Stan (old town).
- Royal Djurgården- Djurgården. our national city park and location of many of Stockholm's main tourist attractions, has its own visitors center which provides information, brochures and sells tickets and passes. Location.
- Arlanda airport- they have two visitor centers, run by Swedavia, and are located in the international terminals (2 & 5). Open 7 days a week with generous opening hours.
- Strömma- this is the company that runs most of the main sightseeing tours in Stockholm. While not general information centers, they run a few ticket offices where they sell sightseeing tickets/passes and can give you advice about what the tours they offer. There main office, open year round, is on Strömkajen. They also have two ticket offices open during the summer high season, one at Nybrohamnen and the other at Klara Mälarstrand.
