Nobel Week Lights

It has been a little slow in this blog for the past couple of weeks due to resurgence of Covid-19 in Sweden and all the new restrictions in place. It is, sadly, a very different holiday season in Stockholm this year (as in the rest of the world). One bit of good news that has lit up the city this week, both figuratively and literally, is the Nobel Week Lights display.
Today, December 10th, is Nobel Day. Usually this is a busy time in the city when the Nobel Prizes are presented to the winners by the king in a wonderful ceremony, followed by a gala dinner at the Stockholm City Hall. This, of course, is all happening digitally this year for the most part.
However... this week, until December 13th, there are 15 light installations around the city commemorating Nobel Week, mostly on landmark Stockholm buildings. See map here. I was out with friends yesterday to see the light installations. Our favorite was definitely City Hall! If you are in Stockholm, this weekend... enjoy these bright lights and beautiful displays around the city. A perfect activity to do which is interesting, uplifting and safe.
And you also have the holiday light display throughout the city...

Stay safe!
