Restaurant Arnold's

Great windows looking out on Stureplan
Well, I am back from my winter holiday vacation and I thought I would start 2020 with an article about a relatively new restaurant in Stockholm called Arnold's. The restaurant has been open for almost a year now and it has been on my list of restaurants to visit. So, I was very thankful that they invited my colleagues at Les Clefs d'Or Sweden and myself to try the restaurant yesterday evening.
Interior
To start off with, the location is pretty spectacular. Arnold's is located right on the square Stureplan, which is ground zero for Stockholm's high-end shopping and nightlife. In fact, the beautiful large windows in the restaurant look out over the busy square. The building itself is also one of Stockholm's most beautiful, well known for its intricate, architectural appeal.
Exterior
The interior of the restaurant is very stylish with the aforementioned big windows, as well as hand-painted ceilings, design lighting fixtures and artwork on the walls. On the ground floor, just to the right when you enter the restaurant, they have an elegant cocktail bar. But that is far from the only option for beverages on the premises. Downstairs they also have the fashionable and popular wine bar Ferdinand and the speakeasy cocktail bar Lucy's Flower Shop.
Buratta with figs
I would say that the menu is international and modern, using seasonal produce. We were able to sample a wide variety of dishes on the menu and it was all very delicious. Dishes like salmon ceviche and burrata with figs and pistacios for appetizers and butternut squash, grilled sea bass and spring chicken for our main courses. For dessert we sampled both their special apple pie and chocolate fondant. You can see their full menu on their website.
Chocolate fondant
The easiest way to get to Arnold's from the Hotel Rival is by subway. It is just four stations away on the red line to Östermalmstorg, exit to Stureplan. Otherwise it is about a 8-9 minute taxi ride. As I mentioned earlier, this neighborhood is where you will find most of the fancier Stockholm nightlife... so you can easily make a whole evening of your visit. Click here for other restaurant recommendations.
