Restaurant Pas d'Art
A new restaurant has recently opened up in the fashionable Bibliotekstan neighborhood called Pas d'Art. Last weekend I had the opportunity to have dinner there and try out the restaurant. For many years, the locale housed an upscale café called Weinercaféet. But last year they decided to change directions, opening a restaurant serving French cuisine. And that is not the only change they have made, they have also completely redone the interior in a beautiful and ecclectic style.
The restaurant is located right on the pedestrian street Biblioteksgatan, in the neighborhood referred to as Stockholm's "fashion district" (Bibliotekstan). Pas d'Art is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner on the weekdays and lunch and dinner on the weekends, so it is great restaurant to visit before or after a round of shopping. Lunch, dinner or maybe just a drink in the bar? There are also many restaurants, bars and nightclubs in the area, so you can make a full evening of it.
The entrance is quite grand, with a beautiful bar, high ceilings and a loft balcony. We dined in the interior dinig room. This room is decorated in a really fanciful way with wall paintings, small nooks and decorated ceilings and gorgeous light fixtures. This is a great way to make use of an interior room without a lot of natural light.
We went full out for dinner, starting with oysters and then moving on to Petite Salade Nicoise and Tarte Fine for appetizers. For the main dish we had a delicious seafood pasta and, finally, for dessert we had a baked chocolate mouuse with coffee. It all was very good with great wine pairings. The rest of the menu looked really good, I will definitely be back to try the duck.
"Pas d'art" literally means "without art" in French, which is a little paradoxical considering all the art in the restaurant. But it can also mean "no problem" which ,makes more sense! To get to Pas d'Art from the Hotel Rival... it is just 4 stops on the subway (red line) to Östermalmstorg, exit to Stureplan. Otherwise it is a 5-7 minute taxi ride away. If you are staying at the hotel, contact me if you need any help in making reservations. Click here for other restaurant recommendations.
