Mood Stockholm: a Shopping Experience

As the days get shorter and the temperatures cooler, we start looking at more indoor type activities. Like shopping, perhaps? Especially after a day of museums it is nice to do something less cultural and a bit more frivolous. There are many shopping options in Stockholm to choose between, from neighborhoods to department stores to massive shopping centers. One, more unique, shopping option is Mood Stockholm. A shopping center of sorts, they call themselves an indoor "shopping district".
I did write about Mood way back in 2012 when they had their grand opening. I stopped by Mood the other day to get my annual spiced pumpkin latté fix at Starbucks and to pick up a shirt and thought perhaps it was time for an updated article. As I mentioned, Mood Stockholm is a unique shopping district in Stockholm as most of their stores aren't found in other centers or malls. As a Swede, I can say that most shopping centers all over the country have the same 10-12 stores... so it is fun to peruse through Mood to see/buy something different.
Besides fashion, accessories and interior design... they also have beauty options like manicurists, hair salons and beauty product shops. Mood is also home to several cafés, restaurants and a bakery. When it comes to restaurants, of special note are EAT Market (Asian/European fusion), Vidgårda Barbecue and Boqueria (Spanish tapas). Mood even has free WiFi! The district takes up an entire city block and is nice just to stroll through and window shop.
Mood Stockholm is located in the downtown area, just behind the NK department store. The easiest way to get there from the Hotel Rival is to take the subway (red line) four stops to Östermalmstorg and exit to Stureplan. Otherwise, it is about a 8-10 minute taxi ride. If you are staying at the hotel and want more shopping options, contact me directly. Happy shopping!
